House of Representatives members have started moving
their personal items out of their various offices in the Federal
Parliament at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

The evacuation preceded the statement issued by the National Assembly management to the lawmakers to remove their personal belongings in order to prepare the offices for re-allocation in the weeks ahead.

It was observed that utility vehicles owned by the lawmakers were used to convey refrigerators, television sets, tables, chairs, rugs, books, pictures, computers and other electronic items.

Aides of some of the legislators were also seen directing contract staff working as cleaners in the complex, to pack and load belongings onto the utility vehicles parked in front of the new Senate and House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, Five suspended lawmakers of Adamawa state House of Assembly have been given an ultimatum to refund the severance allowance paid them by the state government or face arrest.
